AYODA in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resource and Development and UNICEF has conducted water awareness campaigns at Lughaya district in Awdal region for the purpose of mobilizing the community for the proper use of water. This campaign was participated by Tawakal Company which control lughaya water and it's the second Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Awdal region. This awareness campaign was also took part the Mayor of lughaya district and his council as well as rest of community in lughaya town. The reason for this mobilization was first to make the people understand the importance of water and their sustainability since water is live and Humans can only survive a short amount of time without water because the body needs it for almost every process, "Water is life, all our domestic work; cooking, washing and cleaning all depend on water," said MsAsha. She says that she now uses more than six times the amount she used before the water point was installed and that is why UNICEF focus on improving access to water to reduce Burden on women and children.
